Dr Ahmad Nounu BDS, MGDRCS is the practice principal and clinical director of Black Swan Dental Spa. He graduated with a degree in dentistry from Bristol Dental Hospital in 2008 and has taken giant steps to enhance his skills and cement himself as one of the leading Cosmetic dentists in the Southwest. He is committed to providing the highest standard of care in the most gentle way possible. His particular interests in dentistry embrace Whitening, Implants, Orthodontics and Cosmetics.
The winner of numerous awards including the Dentistry Awards Best Young Dentist 2015 he has also featured amongst Private Dentistry Magazine’s Elite top 20 dentists nationally. Recently he has featured as one of the cosmetic dental experts on Sky TV’s MyFaceMyBody. His dedication to the constant improvement of his skills have seen him complete the prestigious Advanced Dental Seminars one-year course with Dr Chris Orr in London in addition to learning more advanced treatment for modern conservative techniques through numerous other courses throughout the UK and abroad in Lisbon and the USA.
A sought after lecturer on the topics of Whitening, Minimally invasive cosmetic dentistry and Soft tissue laser dentistry has seen him presenting in the UK, Europe and the Middle East. As an in demand and respected writer, he has contributed many articles to both dental publications and the national press, where he has featured in both the Times and the Sunday Mirror.
He has served on the committee for the exclusive British Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry and is founding chairman and driving force behind the Young Dentist Group of the South Western Branch of the British Dental association.
Steve Conteh
Steve Conteh
Steve’s main interest is getting to know and understand his patients. This helps in coming to a shared decision on how to give his patients healthy and beautifully natural smiles. High quality digital photography and the latest digital scanning technologies are often used by Steve to help communicate and plan the most appropriate care with his patients. Steve is friendly and calming in order to make visiting a truly enjoyable experience.
Graduating from King’s College London with honours and thoroughly utilising his time there, Steve was able to win multiple awards in both clinical and research aspects of dentistry. He has been awarded opportunities to present his work at European Dental Conferences and had articles published in dental magazines.
Steve has a special interest in Aesthetic Restorative and Implant Dentistry within which he is continually travelling and learning to advance his skills.
Steve has completed the sought after Masters in Implant Dentistry with the University of Bristol. He has also completed training focused on the safe straightening of teeth, amongst a variety of other courses, to improve his skills in providing consistently high quality care. Steve is a Certified Invisalign provider. These are the market leading aligners which can straighten teeth whilst being barely visible.
Steve entered a couple of his cases into the UK Aesthetic Dentistry Awards and we are pleased to say he is a finalist for both of them. Finalist in ‘Smile Makeover’ and finalist in ‘Tooth Whitening’. Steve also teaches techniques to dentists across the UK, enabling delegates to improve standards of dentistry they provide.

Dr Tochukwu Udeh has had the privilege of having attended two world renowned universities in London:
Kings College London, where he attained his Pharmacology degree. Queen Mary University of London, where he received his Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) degree.
Dr. Udeh prides himself on patient care and comfort and strives to ensure his patients receive excellent dental experience and treatment.
The extensive and diverse experience he gained whilst working at a high needs practice has placed him in good stead and makes him an ideal addition for our team.
Dr. Udeh has a keen interest in Restorative Dentistry and as an active member of the British Dental Association. He is eager to further his knowledge and develop his skills by learning from some of most talented dentists in the industry.

Maisie obtained her BDS from King’s College London. She has a keen interest in all aspects of general dentistry and prides herself on her friendly and calming manner; hoping to make each visit relaxed and enjoyable.

Jayesh Nagpal
Jay has had the privilege of attending two of London’s top universities, Imperial College London and St. Barts and The London, where he earned honors degrees. He has a keen interest in all aspects of general dentistry. Jay is currently pursuing a diploma in Aesthetic and Restorative Dentistry under the guidance of the esteemed Dr. Chris Orr in London. This advanced training allows him to offer the highest level of care and stay updated on the latest techniques in the field.
Clinically, he has a special talent for putting patients at ease, particularly those who might feel anxious about their visits.
Outside of dentistry, he is passionate about sports, particularly football, cricket, and golf. Having recently relocated to the area, he looks forward to exploring the local beaches and scenic country walks. Jay is excited to provide exceptional dental care and build lasting relationships with his patients.
Dominic Sinson
Dominic Sinson
Dominic is a GDC registered specialist periodontist. He takes referrals for all patients suffering from periodontitis and is experienced in treating the disease with non-surgical, surgical and regenerative therapies.
Dominic has an interest in managing gingival recessions with soft tissue grafting along with improving patients smiles with cosmetic gum contouring. He also has experience in providing dental implants and managing implant disease.
Dominic is passionate about periodontics which is shown in his approach to achieving the best care for his patients and his involvement in teaching fellow dentists within the UK.
Dooha Elbouni
Dooha Elbouni
Dooha Elbouni BDS, MFDS RCS Edin graduated with Distinction from the University of Bristol Dental School, where she won the undergraduate BDA restorative prize for achieving the highest score in her restorative finals examination.
Since graduating, Dooha has worked in London and the South West of England where she was raised. She has attended various post-graduate courses to keep up to date with the latest trends in dentistry, and is currently undertaking the renowned Advanced Aesthetic and Cosmetic Restorative Dentistry course by Dr Chris Orr in London.
Dooha enjoys providing general dentistry, as well as cosmetic treatments such as Invisalign for teeth straightening. Dooha’s skill and attention to detail are what we value most here at Black Swan.
Anthony Ihimekpen
Anthony Ihimekpen
Anthony trained and qualified here in the South West at the Peninsula College of Medicine and Dentistry. After qualifying, Anthony’s undertook his postgraduate dental surgical training with the Royal College of physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow and is a member of the faculty.
Anthony’s passion for education has allowed him to be appointed as a dental foundation trainer for the South West dental Deanery. Alongside general dentistry, Anthony has a passion for saving teeth and has undertaken several courses in Endodontics. He is currently completing a Master’s degree in Endodontics and is a member of the British Endodontic Society and secretary of the Exeter branch of the British Dental Association
Outside dentistry, he enjoys reading, travelling and spending time with his family
Steve Smith
Steve Smith
Stephen started as an apprentice with Dental Design in Langport in 1987 and gained his qualifications in Dental Technology at the Cardiff School Of Dental Technology – Dental Technician BTEC National Diploma in Dental Technology in 1993.
He has had a passion for Dental Technology that has developed from the age of 16 since starting his apprenticeship at Dental Design. After Qualifying at Cardiff this passion then mixed with a love of prosthetics and Stephen has dedicated himself to this field ever since. All-on-four and implant retained dentures have been of particular interest and Stephen has developed extensive knowledge in this field.
With many years’ experience working as a Dental Technician, Stephen as a Clinical Dental Technician has the advanced technical and clinical skills needed to carefully design and hand-craft every denture to the individual requirements of the patient.
His position allows him to offer patients direct treatment for the construction, repairing and fitting of removable dental appliances. Whilst dentist and clinical dental technicians work independently of each other, they may confer in treatments when it is in the best interest of the patient.
To construct aesthetically pleasing dentures with comfort and function is one of hardest tasks in dentistry. We are not only replacing lost teeth, but also compensating for bone loss and very often sunken facial profiles, which can age patients up to 10 years prematurely. Careful, calculated consideration of each individual’s anatomy is essential for outstanding results to be gained in this delicate area.
Steve can take referrals from you for your patients who need full or partial dentures, repairs, additions etc.
He provides a bespoke service to your patients, seeing them at the practice and is able to do fast turn arounds if necessary. We believe that working directly with the clinician and discussing issues and concerns face to face gives the patient a much better final result and makes the whole process much smoother.
Richard Brookshaw
Richard Brookshaw
Dr Richard Brookshaw BDS, MSc, DipImplant is a highly skilled dental implant surgeon with a distinguished academic background.
He qualified with a BDS from the University of Dundee in 1996. In 1999 he gained his Masters degree in Oral Surgery from the University of Sheffield and further extended his clinical qualification in 2001 by completing an 18 month Implant Training Programme. In 2009, he attained the highest honours award in the one-year implant master program from University of California Los Angeles/Gide program. Richard was one of the first six in the UK to gain The Diploma in Implant Dentistry from the Royal College of Surgeons, Edinburgh at its first sitting.
He has placed more than 5000 implants and is one of only a handful of implant surgeons nationwide who can carry out implant surgery in patients with extreme bone loss, using specialised zygomatic implants.
Richard is respected nationally and internationally as a lecturer and mentor in Implant Dentistry, immediate same day implants and CT scanning and planning for implant surgery. He also lectures for Nobel Biocare nationally and internationally on a range of advanced implant techniques and is a regular lecturer and contributor to their World Tour.
Richard practices all aspects of implant dentistry, including hard and soft tissue augmentation, sinus grafting and same day implants.
He is proving to be a huge asset to Black Swan, where he treats existing patients of the practice and also accepts referrals from other dentists who value the skills he can provide for their patients.
